Natural Language Processing (NLP) is an artificial intelligence that enables a machine to understand human languages. NLP interacts between Data science and Human language, and it is seen budding in various industries such as healthcare, media, finance, and human resources. NLP is constantly advancing and the credit goes to human-machine communication, substantial data, and strengthened algorithms. Earlier programmers had to punch cards in order to communicate, but these days human-machine communication is at its peak. Machines do not understand alphabetic communication, but they do understand the language of zeros and ones that make it a logical code and operate the machine.

Fields in which NLP is predominantly used

Prediction of diseases:

Natural language processing aids in recognizing the disease a person is suffering from depending on the patient’s medical history, be it depression, schizophrenia, bipolar disorder, or even cardiovascular diseases. NPL can help in recognizing both mental and physical diseases.

Identifying fake news:

Identifying fake news is very important as masses of the world are dependent on news channels and news portals for information. The NLP group at MIT developed a system that determines if a news source is biased or can be trusted.

Voice-Driven interfaces:

Voice-Driven interfaces help in assisting a user to interact with a system through voice assistance. The primary advantage of voice-driven interfaces is that a user can use them without any physical assistance. A few examples of them are- Alexa, Siri, and Google Assistant.

Predictive text:

Predictive texts are the texts that are predicted while a person is typing. You see predictive text in action when you are typing and the app suggests a set of words that can be used to form a sentence.

Artificial Intelligence is the stimulation of human intelligence into machines. AI has the ability to rationalize and take decisions accordingly. AI is based on a principle that states that it can mimic and perform complex tasks effortlessly. Learning, reasoning, problem-solving, and perception are major goals of artificial intelligence. AI enables machines to think like humans and it has the necessary memory built into it so that it can out-think humans. Artificial intelligence is applied almost everywhere. From chatbots, E-commerce, human resource management, healthcare, cybersecurity, and whatnot.
